1. Purpose
This Refund Policy explains when a customer may qualify for a full refund, partial refund, service credit, or no refund for services booked with CDM Inspections.
2. Full Refund Eligibility
A full refund may be issued in the following situations:
- CDM Inspections cancels the appointment and is unable to reschedule the service.
- The service cannot proceed because of unsafe weather, unsafe water conditions, or other safety conditions and a mutually acceptable reschedule cannot be completed.
- Equipment failure prevents the service from being performed and the service cannot reasonably be rescheduled.
- The customer cancels at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.
3. Partial Refund or Service Credit
A partial refund or service credit may be considered when:
- A portion of the inspection has been completed and the customer asks CDM Inspections to stop the service.
- Weather or water conditions change after the inspection has begun and prevent completion.
- Mechanical or equipment issues arise after a substantial portion of the service has already been completed.
Any partial refund or service credit will be determined reasonably based on work performed, time spent, travel, setup, equipment use, and the remaining unperformed portion of the service.
4. Non-Refundable Situations
Payments may be non-refundable in the following situations:
- The inspection or agreed service has been completed.
- The customer is dissatisfied with the inspection findings or results rather than the manner in which the contracted service was performed.
- The customer cancels after CDM Inspections has traveled to the site or completed setup.
- The customer fails to provide access to the property, vessel, dock, marina, or other required location.
- A completed search and recovery service does not locate or recover the requested item.
5. Search and Recovery Services
Search and recovery services do not guarantee that a requested item will be found or recovered. Fees compensate CDM Inspections for the time, travel, equipment, expertise, and search effort performed. An unsuccessful search result does not, by itself, create a right to a refund.
6. Cancellation Fees and No-Shows
- Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the appointment are eligible for a full refund of amounts paid for the canceled service, subject to any separately agreed non-refundable third-party charges.
- Cancellations made after the 24-hour cutoff may be subject to a fee of $100 or 25% of the quoted service amount.
- No-shows may be charged 50% of the quoted service amount.
7. How to Request a Refund
Refund requests should be submitted within 7 days of the inspection or canceled appointment by email at Cdm.inspections@gmail.com, by phone at 850-966-0978, or through the website contact form at https://cdm-inspections.com/. The request should identify the customer, appointment, service, and reason for the request.
8. Refund Processing Through Stripe
CDM Inspections currently processes payments through Stripe. Approved refunds for Stripe-processed payments will generally be initiated back through Stripe to the original payment method when available.
CDM Inspections generally processes approved refunds within 5 to 10 business days. The time required for funds to appear in the customer’s account may vary based on Stripe, the customer’s bank, card issuer, and payment method. CDM Inspections does not control third-party posting times once a refund has been submitted to the payment processor.
9. Service Credits and Rescheduling
When appropriate, CDM Inspections and the customer may agree to apply an amount as a service credit toward a rescheduled or replacement service instead of issuing a cash refund. Any such arrangement should be confirmed in writing.
10. Fraud, Abuse, and Chargebacks
CDM Inspections may deny or challenge refund requests, disputes, or chargebacks that appear fraudulent, duplicative, abusive, or inconsistent with the services actually authorized and performed. Transaction records, service agreements, appointment communications, reports, and Stripe payment records may be used to respond to payment disputes.
11. Contact
Questions regarding refunds may be directed to CDM Inspections at Cdm.inspections@gmail.com, 850-966-0978, or https://cdm-inspections.com/.
